Значение слова burthen. Как и где применяется burthen?
Burthen — архаичный вариант burden. Такой вариант был распространен в английском языке еще в конце 19 века, но в настоящее время в основном отсутствует. Burthen часто использовался как морской термин, обозначающий тоннаж корабля, например, во фразах типа:
- «…a schooner of 200 tons burthen.»
